Exporting Data

All of the tabular data from Page View Insights  can be exported to Excel. However, in some situations we understand you might require more control on your data for performing advanced reporting & custom visualisations. 

For  these use-cases we provide a REST API endpoint which allows you to export raw data.

Create an API Token 

You can use an API token to authenticate a script or other process with Page View Insights application.

To generate a API token :

1. Browse to the Confluence administration area
2. Click "Page View Insights" under Security in the sidebar
3. In REST API Token, click generate 
4. Copy and paste the token for usage in your script.

Administrator access is required to generate API token.

Use an API token 

A primary use case for API token is to allow scripts to access REST API of Page View Insights App using HTTP basic authentication.
