A. User capabilities differ based on Jira Administrator permissions:

Regular Users:

  • Get reports for personal data only

  • Use all available categories set by admin

Administrators (with "Administer Jira" permission):

  • Log work on any issue in the project

  • View all team members' worklogs

  • Access Settings page

  • Manage categories and subcategories (add, edit, delete)

  • Generate team-wide reports with assignee filter

  • Export entire team's data

Q7. What report types and aggregations are available?

A. Reports can be configured with five aggregation types:

  1. Detailed List (No aggregation all filters set by default)

  • Shows every individual worklog entry as a separate row

  • Use for: Client invoicing, detailed audits, itemized billing

  1. Aggregate by Category

  • Groups by work type (Development, Testing, Design, etc.)

  • Shows total hours per category with subcategory breakdown

  • Use for: Understanding time distribution across work types

  1. Aggregate by Project

  • Groups by Jira project key

  • Shows total hours, issue count, and team members per project

  • Use for: Project budget tracking, capacity planning

  1. Aggregate by User (Admin only)

  • Groups by team member

  • Shows each person's total hours by category

  • Use for: Utilization analysis, performance reviews

  1. Aggregate by Project, then by User (Admin only)

  • Multi-level grouping showing which people work on which projects

  • Use for: Resource allocation, quarterly planning, identifying overloaded team members

All reports support date range selection (This Week, Last Week, Last 30/60 days), multi-dimensional filtering (categories, subcategories, projects, assignees), and export to PDF or Excel.

Q8. Can I import existing worklogs from Jira?

A. The app syncs worklogs created in Jira after installation through webhooks.

  • Only new worklogs (created after app installation) appear in the app

Q9. How does time zone handling work?

A. The app uses Jira profile time zone settings:

To configure:

  1. Go to Jira ProfilePersonal Settings

  2. Select your Time Zone

  3. Save changes

  4. Refresh Worklog Reports

This ensures consistent time display across different team members' time zones.

Q10. What happens if I delete a worklog?

A. Deletion is permanent and bidirectional:

The same applies if you delete a worklog directly in Jira - the app receives the webhook and deletes the corresponding entry.
