Use this page to prepare your Jira site and create a reliable first contract.
Before you begin
-
Confirm that Support Time Contract Management is installed on the Jira Cloud site.
-
Use a Jira account with permission to access the app and manage its configuration.
-
Identify the Jira Service Management projects and customer work that the contract should cover.
-
Confirm that agents record time using Jira worklogs; the app calculates contract usage from eligible worklogs.
-
Decide whether customers should see contract metrics in the portal.
Open the app
-
In JSM, open Apps.
-
Select Support Time Contract Management.
-
The Contracts dashboard opens. If this is the first use, review Settings before creating the first contract.
First-use checklist
-
Set the scope. Choose the JSM projects supported by the app.
-
Choose the commitment. Compare the three contract types.
-
Create a small test contract. Use a narrow issue filter that is easy to verify.
-
Add a test worklog. Log time on a matching Jira issue.
-
Verify the result. Check Logged Hours, Remaining, Progress, and Status on the contracts dashboard.
-
Check the portal. If Contract Metrics Visibility is enabled, open a matching request as a customer and confirm the expected gauge.
Tip: Start with a narrow filter. You can broaden it after you confirm that only the intended issues and worklogs are counted.
