Storyboard AI

Render and download your video

To render a video in Storyboard AI, click Generate Video in the editor. Storyboard AI creates the voiceover and captions, renders the video in the cloud, and puts a downloadable MP4 in the work item's Storyboard AI panel.

  1. Click Generate Video in the top right.

  2. We prepare your frames and narration. Audio is regenerated only for the frames you've changed — everything else reuses what's already there.

  3. The video is rendered in the cloud.

  4. Progress is shown in the Storyboard AI panel on the work item. You can close the editor and come back; the render continues in the background.

  5. When it's done, the panel shows a Download MP4 button.

Previous renders for a work item stay listed in that work item's panel.

If a render doesn't finish

If the panel still shows a render in progress long after you'd expect it to be done, reopen the work item's Storyboard AI panel — completed and failed renders are settled when the panel loads. Renders that stall are retired automatically after about 15 minutes, and a "Last render failed" card appears in their place.

A render started by the Rovo agent is recorded the same way, so open the panel to confirm it landed.

If a render fails

The most common cause is a source video with very large pixel dimensions. The editor resizes clips above 1920Ɨ1080 automatically when you add them, so this mostly affects clips that got in another way — attached by the Rovo agent, or uploaded from a browser too old to resize them. Resize the clip and add it again through the editor. Re-saving it as a different file type at the same dimensions won't help.
